Tis the season for holiday entertaining which calls for the perfect cocktail. I merged my very favorite Williams Sonoma Hot Chocolate, vodka, and two liqueurs creating the perfect balance of flavor that it not too sweet, not too overpowering.
Located in Fort Worth’s Foundry District, just west of downtown, Blackland houses a distillery open for tours, and a tasting room offering the latest craft cocktails, small plates, and event space! After our tour we had a tasting of the five beautifully bottled spirits. When tasting, my culinary juices started flowing thinking of all the recipes I could create. I immediately thought this spirit would be a fabulous addition to my Pecan Pie recipe.

I love a hearty entrée salad, layered with so many flavors and textures that marry well together. Tender, juicy rotisserie chicken, tart apples, sharp cheddar, and curly kale. Massaging this variety of kale will assist in breaking up the cellulose structure, producing a slightly sweeter, much silkier texture. The ingredients are basic, and I love the addition of pumpkin seeds as fall it here!
