Sweetheart Cocktail: The Best Valentine’s Day Cocktail

Valentine’s Day is just days away, and it’s the perfect time to raise a glass to those you love! Let’s be clear… you can rarely go wrong with a glass of bubbles! However, a specialty cocktail is a fun and unique addition to any Valentine’s Day celebration. Whether you’re enjoying a pre-dinner happy hour with your partner or having a cozy rom-com marathon with friends, the Sweetheart Cocktail is the ideal addition to your Valentine’s Day celebration. This refreshing mix of lemon juice, strawberries, triple sec, and vodka offers the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Hence the fitting name!

One of the best things about the Sweetheart Cocktail is its versatility. If you prefer a lighter, fizzier drink, top it off with a splash of club soda or prosecco for a refreshing twist. Want to make it extra festive? Rim your glass with sugar or garnish with a heart-shaped strawberry slice for an added touch of Valentine’s Day charm. Whether you serve it in a classic coupe glass or a fun stemless wine glass, this cocktail is sure to impress your guests and elevate your celebration.

I love that this cocktail can be easily transformed into a mocktail without sacrificing on the flavor. Simply swap the vodka and triple sec for a mix of sparkling water and a splash of orange juice to maintain the bright citrus notes. It’s the perfect way to ensure that everyone—no matter their drink preference—can enjoy a festive and delicious sip. Cheers to love in all its forms! With that being said, it’s time to grab your sweetheart (or your besties) and toast to love, friendship, and everything in between!

TIFFY’S TIPS
  • If you prefer a much more sweet cocktail, a lemon-lime carbonated beverage (Sprite) is a great substitute for sparkling water or club soda to top your cocktail.
  • This fabulous heart shaped ice mold is a great addition to this cocktail. Bonus points for a heart straw
  • I love using pink or red colored sugar on the rim for an added pop of Valentine’s Day color!
  • For the garnish you can lace a strawberry and a lemon through a clear prism pick, or create a lemon twist using a peeler.
  • Turn this cocktail into a mocktail by leaving out the vodka or zero-proof spirit.
