I love a mimosa! They are so refreshing, so lovely, so elegant, so colorful, so…FABULOUS! I love serving mimosas when entertaining, especially for breakfast or brunch. I hope you enjoy a few suggestions I have for the perfect and oh so fabulous Mimosa Bar!
Location, location, location
Outdoors if the weather is permitting. Set up on a sideboard, bar, cart or table, making sure all ingredients are reachable. I have ill placed a few champagne flutes in my lifetime that have taken a tumble when brushed by someone’s beautiful bell sleeves while self-serving and mixing. Make sure you set up in a designated area away from the food to avoid a pile up of guests.
Chill
Mimosas are not an iced cocktail but the bubbles should be chilled! I love using a beverage tub if you are offering a variety of bottles or a champagne bucket for smaller gatherings with one or two selections.
Bubbles
I prefer not adding ingredients to a fine champagne and select dry or semi-dry sparkling wine or prosecco for mimosas.
Glassware
I say go champagne flutes all the way but I have used acrylic when entertaining by the pool. Stemless is also fun but I am not a huge fan as my hands warm the mimosa.
Juice
Clear glass carafes for each juice you select to accompany your mimosa bar. The juice colors make such a vibrant and colorful setting. A few selections I enjoy…
-
Orange
-
Cranberry
-
Grapefruit
-
Pomegranate
-
Pineapple
-
A variety of purees including strawberry, peach and kiwi.
Garnishes, etc
Fill small bowls or ramekins with these ingredients for guests to add or garnish. I use white to make the colors pop. Add bamboo skewers with a few fresh berries in alternating colors for an additional touch.
-
Raspberries
-
Strawberries
-
Blackberries
-
Blueberries
-
Orange slices
-
Kiwi
-
Pineapple
Make sure you have plenty of cocktail napkins, I prefer monogrammed. Cheers and enjoy!
