Oven-Baked Chili Cheese Dogs
Ingredients
- 8 split hot dog buns
- 3 Tbsp. yellow mustard or ketchup
- 8 hot dogs, cooked
- 2 cups prepared chili
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup white onion chopped
- ¼ cup dill pickle relish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350º F. Line a large jelly roll pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Arrange hot dog buns on the pan, cut side up. Evenly spread mustard, ketchup, or both, on the inside of buns. Place hot dogs in each bun. Layer chili, cheese and onion on each hot dog. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
- Top with dill pickle relish and serve immediately.
Notes
- I use Applegate’s “Great Organic Hot Dog” which is free of preservatives and made with organic, grass-fed beef. They also offer turkey and chicken hot dogs, so there’s an option for everyone!
- Any chili recipe works, I personally prefer my homemade chili recipe! For the sake of time and ease you can opt for a pre-made store bought chili.
- I highly recommend using parchment paper sheets or aluminum foil sheets to line your pan. The pre-cut sheets are so convenient and make clean-up a breeze.
