The Best Ways to Store & Organize Holiday Home Decor
What goes up must come down! As the holidays come to a close, do you enjoy keeping the holiday spirit alive by leaving your home decorated, or are you a bit more eager to take everything down (like myself)? Regardless of when your holiday home decor comes down, I thought I’d share some post-holiday organization and storage solution tips to help you prepare to pack away the festive decor until next year! I hope these tips, tricks, and tools allow you to have a stress-free holiday takedown!
Last year, I decided it was time to update our holiday storage. Proper storage is crucial for keeping your decorations safe and in great condition for years to come. Before I dive into detail and product recommendations, there are a few rules of thumb that I wanted to highlight:
- I prefer to use clear bins (when possible) for easy visibility. Stackable containers are preferred as it maximizes storage space!
- Sort boxes by theme or room and use a label maker for easy identification… It will make unpacking a breeze next year.
- Keep bubble wrap or packaging paper on hand for an added layer of protection to sentimental or fragile ornaments.
- Make sure you have a vacuum or broom handy in case of glitter… LOL!
