I rarely set “resolutions”, per say, but rather adjust my day-to-day, thinking, organization and relationships in many areas of my life. After the long stretch of holidays which began with Halloween, I had times of slipping and not staying on track. My life is pretty set but there’s always room for improvement.
RESET
I love resetting my body with Prolon as this helps with bloating and those extra holiday pounds. I will begin the 5-day reset AFTER my birthday on January 8th. I LOVE how I feel when I complete this 5-day Fasting Mimicking Diet. I do this quarterly and always begin at the start of a new year.
DIET / MEAL PREPPING
I try to make good food choices for myself, and my family. A few things I do to ensure the freshest, healthiest, and best quality ingredients are:
-
Shop local farmers for produce, dairy and cheese.
-
Shopping the perimeter of the grocery store.
-
Continue to support local restaurants and establishments that I believe always has the customer’s best interest.
On Sundays, I will return to meal prepping by:
-
Planning, prepping and executing meals I know we can eat throughout the week.
-
Create healthy, nutritious meals that are packed with protein, vitamins, and the essentials needed to continue our healthy lifestyle.
RELATIONSHIPS
Y’all, I have been SO busy building my brand in 2020 that I have, in my opinion, fallen a bit short on relationships. Now, 2020 we were a bit limited on how we support relationships, due to social-distancing. However, I MUST do a better job…especially with my husband. I need to continue our 7 am coffee dates, listen more and stay off my phone. I am blessed with such a happy, healthy marriage but like plants, they must be watered and nurtured daily. I need to be available for my husband, family, and friends.
SELF
I must work on not taking things SO personally! I sometimes find myself reacting too quickly to a situation. I am going to work on remembering my 24-hour rule of not responding/reacting for a full day to fully digest the situation and listen!
I am trying to better myself and be a better human. I have had SO MANY fabulous podcast guests and I learn something unique from each and every one. My guests are truly assisting in making me a better person. Thank you all!!
FITNESS
In my adult life, I workout 6-7 days a week. I always have and always will…It’s who I am. I need it for my mind, body, and soul! I have spent years tweaking my workouts and found what is best for my body, injuries, time, etc. I start my day with my workout, at 5-6 am, which sets the tone for the entire day. The endorphin rush is amazing!
I train reformer Pilates 3 days a week and strength train 3 days a week. The one component I am missing is cardio. I would love to find time in 2021 to incorporate into my workout routine! Wish me luck on that!
SPIRITUAL
We have not attended in-person church for a while, due to Covid. I need to do a better job of not being so relaxed on Sundays and return to regularly attending virtually. Thank you to our congregation and so many others for continuing to offer.
HEALTH
I will continue to have my bloodwork evaluated quarterly by the FABULOUS Dr. Leighann Scott MD. Dr. Scott evaluates my numbers, hormones, everything! Like I’ve said countless times on my podcast, God gave us one body…take care of it!
MEDITATION
I know this is good for me, I simply must make the time! I use the Calm app, which is fabulous but shutting my brain off is often a task.
SLEEP
I don’t sleep….I just can’t as I do not have the ability to shut off my brain at night. I work SO hard on my body inside and out, but I am doing myself a HUGE disservice with no sleep. I have not had a full night sleep in over a year…no joke! I have taken steps to fix this problem, beginning with a lab sleep study in January. Wish my luck!
BE PRESENT
Most importantly I intend to BE PRESENT, enough said!
Happy New Year to you all and please share with me in the comments below; resolutions, adjustments, intentions or other that you have for 2021.
