The Sweetheart Cocktail
Ingredients
- 3 Fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup ice
- 1.5 oz vodka or tequila
- .75 oz triple sec
- 1.5 oz fresh orange juice
- 1 splash freshly squeezed lemon juice
- club soda or sparkling water
- colored sugar, fresh lemon slice, fresh strawberries
Instructions
- Muddle strawberries in a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice, vodka or tequila, triple sec, orange juice, and lemon juice. Shake until chilled.
- Pour into a tall glass rimmed with sugar, top with a carbonated beverage, stir to mix. Garnish and serve immediately.
Notes
- If you prefer your cocktail on the sweeter side, a lemon-lime carbonated beverage (Sprite) is a great substitute for sparkling water or club soda to top your cocktail.
- This fabulous heart shaped ice mold is a great addition to this cocktail. Bonus points for a heart shaped straw!
- I love using pink or red colored sugar on the rim for an added pop of Valentine’s Day color!
- For the garnish you can lace a strawberry and a lemon through a clear prism pick, or create a lemon twist using a peeler.
- Turn this cocktail into a mocktail by leaving out the vodka or opting for a zero-proof spirit.
