A Healthy & Delicious Alternative to Commercial Coffee Creamer

Calling all coffee lovers! I’ve been a coffee lover for my entire adult life. The ritual, the flavor, the energy boost, you name it! Following my Breast Explant in 2023, I began the process of eliminating a lot of the toxic products in our home and life. In cutting out unnecessary toxins, I realized it was time to step away from the commercial coffee creamers I had been using for so long. Don’t get me wrong, I used to love store bought creamer as much as the next person, but have you ever read the ingredients list? Sadly, many are full of artificial flavors, preservatives, refined sugars, high fructose corn syrup, and harmful oils. Yikes! After trying what felt like endless different “clean” creamer brands with no success, I decided it was time to go the old fashioned way and make my own!
You know those recipes that you try and think “where has this been all my life?!”… Well, allow me to introduce you to mine! This Homemade Cashew Coffee Creamer is truly unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The best part? It seriously couldn’t be easier to make. Simply grab the 5 basic ingredients, throw them all into a power blender for 5 minutes and voilà! The same deliciously creamy, sweet, and smooth coffee creamer we all know and love, but without the toxins!
This recipe has quickly become a favorite of family, friends, and followers, many making the switch in their own homes! Homemade Coffee Creamer is an easy way to avoid the preservatives and additives in many of the store-bought options. I hope you love this recipe as much as I do! Homemade Cashew Coffee Creamer
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw cashews softened if needed
- 1 ½ cup water
- 1 tsp maple syrup or sweetener of your choice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Add cashews, water, sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender. Cover and blend on HIGH for five minutes or until smooth and creamy. Mixture will be warm so allow it to cool.
- Pour into a container, cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Shake before using.
Notes
- If you are using a high-powered blender, (like a Vitamix) this step isn’t necessary. If not, you will need to soften the cashews for a creamy texture. Soften cashews by adding them to a bowl and covering with water. Soak overnight or until tender. Drain and rinse before using.
- I always use 1 ½ cups of water but adjust for desired consistency.
- I use maple syrup for added sweetener but stevia, agave, and dates are excellent choices.
- Purity Coffee is my favorite health-focused coffee brand. Their delicious mold-free coffee makes coffee much healthier!
- I swear these coffee mugs make everything taste better! High quality mugs that look good and don’t overheat when warm. Microwave and dishwasher safe.
