The Sweetheart Cocktail

My Sweetheart Cocktail is the perfect cocktail for Valentine’s Day!  So light and refreshing with freshly squeezed lemon juice, strawberries, Triple Sec and your favorite vodka, I prefer Hell’s Half Acre. This libation is a great way to toast the day dedicated to romance!

The Sweetheart Cocktail

Serves:  1

Ingredients

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

4 fresh strawberries, chopped

1 cup ice cubes

1.5-ounces Hell’s Half Acre Vodka

.75-ounces Triple Sec

1.5 ounces fresh orange juice

Splash of lemon juice

6-ounces lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

Garnish with colored sugar, fresh lemon and fresh strawberry

Add ice, vodka, triple sec, orange juice, and lemon juice. Shake.

Pour into a tall glass rimmed with sugar; top with Sprite, stir to mix.  Garnish and serve immediately.

Tiffy’s Tips

I used Sprite in this recipe but if you prefer less sugar use Topo Chico.

~I have a collection of colored sugars for a variety of recipes.  I selected red, pink and white from Williams Sonoma.

~Sugar substitutes work great!

How to sugar the rim of your glass.

1 lemon wedge

Colored sugar

Using a paring knife, cut a notch in the flesh of the lemon.

Run that notch around the rim of the glass until the glass is wet with the juice.

Place sugar on a flat plate.

Tip the glass, twisting around and in the sugar, making sure you are covering the rim of your glass.
