One of my favorite celebrations throughout the year is Halloween. October 31st arrives adorning our home with pumpkins, witches, ghosts, goblins, and fabulous tablescapes to our home! Throughout the years, Halloween has changed.
For so long, the costume selection process for my daughter Kennedy was forefront. The minute Halloween was over, she soon began the process of the next costume, often collaborating with friends. Trick or treating, parties, and school carnivals were so much fun creating everlasting memories. Gone are the days of childhood costumes but we still and always have the tradition of Halloween decor with a variety of tablescapes, and table settings. I love the colors of fall, and Halloween with hues of black, orange, purple, vivid green, and white! I incorporated these colors as my base palette when decorating and building my design using old and new collectables. This year, my sister-in-law Vicki gave us a beautiful set of Vietri stemware, magnificent in design, color, and shape…simply stunning! The minute I opened this fabulous gift, I was dreaming of the tablescape I would design with these beauties as the focal point.
The Centerpiece
This centerpiece incorporates festive Halloween components with the beautiful colors of fall, and Halloween. A variety of lush, velvet pumpkins, sequin skulls, ravens, black feathers, crystal, and candlelight of varying heights, shapes and sizes. The centerpiece trails from end to end of my 120-inch oval dining table with tiny fairy lights gently tucked throughout, creating a magical illumination.
Place Settings
I love building a place setting with a charger plate that serves as a foundation and adds a pop of color, dimension, texture, and elegance. Build the setting with a dinner plate, salad plate, napkin fold (with or without a napkin ring), flatware, and a place card. For this setting, I added a beautiful glass stem for the appetizer, or dessert portion of the meal. I mixed two different patterns using gold flatware.
