A Night of Celebration and the Details That Made Turning 60 So Special
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been over a year since my 60th birthday. Time really does fly! When deciding what I wanted to do for my 60th birthday, I knew I wanted to plan a celebration filled with intention, beauty, and guests who have had an impact on me in my 60 years of life. As mentioned before, time flies… so as I reflect on the past year, I thought it was time to finally sit down and share one of the most fabulous nights of my life… my 60th birthday party. Everything from the detail shots to the vendors that made it all possible.
On a black-tie January evening inspired by lush florals, candlelight glowing, friends filling every corner of the room—I was surrounded by some of the most important people in my life. Those who have loved and supported me in every chapter of life. With the help of Sarah Garrett Events, we were able to create the celebration of my dreams!The night unfolded as a cocktail party, a seated dinner, heartfelt speeches from my closest friends and family, and an unforgettable dance party that carried us late into the evening. Even puppies from Saving Hope Rescue joined us, bringing joy and purpose to the celebration! This party was never just about turning 60, it was about friendship, resilience, beauty, generosity, and honoring life exactly as it is, even when it’s complicated! So here it is—fashionably late, deeply felt, and full of heart—my 60th birthday party!
Details
Designing my 60th birthday party dress, I wanted something timeless, artistic, and deeply personal. With the help of Dallas-based designer Mackenzie Brittingham, I was able to create just that. A custom black-tie look inspired by lush florals and rich emerald tones. This design offered a nod to the floral theme which was woven throughout the night.
I never host a party without a party favor, and knew the gift had to be special for this milestone. I partnered with Christi Braswell of Wild Silks to design custom silk scarves for every guest. Christi brought my vision to life with impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail. The design mirrored the evening’s floral motif, woven with meaning throughout—my age subtly represented in Roman numerals, along with my initials, TB, drawn from my brand logo. The result was timeless, elegant, and deeply personal.
Cocktail Party
Upon entering the Crescent Hotel, guests were ushered through a spread of life-size florals from Elevate Your Celebrate to a cocktail hour full of passed appetizers and beverages accompanied by music from the incredibly talented Armond Vance. I knew I wanted to find a way to use this event to give back in some way, which is why I brought in the help of Saving Hope Rescue, who brought puppies for adoption!

Seated Dinner
I’m not kidding when I say that Sarah Garrett Events and Coco Fleur Events truly created the dining room of my dreams. The tent was draped in emerald green velvet, with a statement chandelier suspended above a serpentine table and lush florals lining every wall. As candles flickered and champagne flowed, the room felt alive with joy, gratitude, and the kind of magic that only happens when everyone you love is gathered together. I will remember the love and laughter that filled this space forever.

Dance Party
Following dinner, the doors of the ballroom were opened for the moment everyone was waiting for. A dance party led by the FABULOUS Emerald City Band! This room had everything from a merch stand to my favorite late-night bites, and enough dancing to last a lifetime. The energy was electric from the first song to the last, with friends of every generation filling the dance floor together. It was pure joy, and the perfect ending to a night I’ll treasure forever.
