I recently completed two rounds of Ellacor® with Dr. Daniels at Fort Worth Plastics & MedSpa (if you haven’t already, see here)! I visited Dr. Daniels with my mind and heart set on a face lift before my 60th birthday. After sharing my concerns, Dr. Daniels explained, in his opinion, I wasn’t ready for a face lift just yet, recommending a less invasive treatment. What is Ellacor® & How does Ellacor Work®
Ellacor® is a non-surgical skin treatment that uses tiny hollow needles to remove micro-cores of skin. This promotes collagen production, skin tightening and natural rejuvenation, significantly improving the appearance of wrinkles and skin sagging without scarring. It’s actually the first and only FDA-cleared procedure to non-surgically remove excess skin! I decided to have Ellacor® treatments to tighten sagging skin and smooth wrinkles without surgery. I’ve heard it compared to aerating a lawn, by taking out tiny bits, the skin naturally pulls together and heals, leading to a firmer, more youthful look. It’s a great option for noticeable results with less downtime than traditional face lifts or lasers.
Does it Hurt During? Does it hurt after?
This is a question I receive often! I have a very low pain tolerance, so I was pretty nervous about the pain level. In my experience the numbing injections done prior to the procedure were the most uncomfortable part. After I was fully numb, I truly did not feel the procedure itself whatsoever. I personally didn’t experience any pain afterwards, just a bit of itching on the procedure site for a few days during the healing process. Overall, on a pain scale of 1-10 (10 being the most painful), my pain level was a 2-3.
How Many Ellacor® Treatments are Necessary?
I would defer to your medical provider, as I am sure it’s different for everyone. I recommend visiting Fort Worth Plastics & MedSpa for a consultation where they will create a personalized treatment plan and timeline based on your needs. In my case, I completed two Ellacor® treatments that were spaced approximately 60 days apart. This is what worked for my schedule.
How Long is The Procedure & How Long Did it Take to Heal?
According to Fort Worth Plastics & MedSpa’s website, “Recovery from Ellacor® varies per individual, generally ranging from a few days to weeks. Most patients can resume normal activities shortly after the procedure, with outcomes improving as the skin heals.”
I’m certainly not a medical professional, and I can only speak on my personal experience. The procedure itself lasted about 30 minutes and I was swollen for the rest of the day. On the first two days of healing, my skin was definitely red and had a bit of a “scabbing” appearance. Each day the redness faded, and within a week the redness and marks had significantly faded. I had my first procedure done on Friday, by Monday I was definitely healed enough to go in public. I felt the healing was a bit quicker after the second procedure. Everyone is different, but it is crucial to use the products and skincare regimen recommended by your provider.

Was Ellacor® Worth It???
In my experience, Ellacor® was definitely worth it! I’ve seen such great results with the firmness of my skin, less sagging, and fading wrinkles. The good news is, my skin will continue to improve and I am so excited to watch for continued results. I’ve also heard a lot of feedback from family and friends who have mentioned a fabulous difference in my skin. Of course, everyone is different, but Ellacor® has certainly worked for me and my skin goals. As mentioned above, I truly cannot recommend Dr. Daniels and the entire team at Fort Worth Plastics & MedSpa enough!
