As we close the school year and prepare for summer, each year my husband Greg and I celebrate our wedding anniversary in Cabo with our family. Unfortunately, this year’s plans had to change due to our worldwide pandemic. We typically have approximately 20 family members travel to our happy place, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, in Cabo but this year we brought Cabo to Texas at the FABULOUS Escondido Chateau.

I searched and searched for the perfect spot knowing it would be difficult to create our traditional June celebration. After so much research…WE FOUND IT!! The perfect destination that didn’t require air travel, large enough to accommodate our family and still have the feel of Cabo…somewhat. The gorgeous lakefront estate features a pool, hot tubs, canoes, paddle boarding, pool tables, the list goes on and on!! I cannot share how much we LOVED our little slice of Cabo, in Texas. I pray that next June we are not in a world-wide crisis, but if we are…I know where to go! This spectacular estate perched on Lake Travis transcends the Hill Country…whisking you off to a stately chateau feeling like you are in the heart of France. The column-flanked, tree-lined approach to the classic circular drive sets the stage for the grand home.

I always like to offer welcome gifts to my guests as a special treat upon arrival. For this trip, the ladies each received an Alana Kay beach towel, personalized Swig Life wine cup with vinyl lettering designed by my niece Cally Hardwick, and an icing cookie by Cookies Plz Bakery. While the gentlemen had a bottle of silver Patrón Tequila with a personalized Swig Life wine cup with vinyl lettering designed by my niece Cally Hardwick, and an icing cookie by Cookies Plz Bakery, too!

I could not recommend this 16,000 sq. ft. waterfront luxurious 12+ acre estate enough!! It sleeps 25 people and has 10 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 4 half-baths, and the perfect location for a large group. If you’re looking for a great Texas getaway, this is it!! Click through the gallery below for more fun from our fantastic family vacation!
